I should be at Internet Librarians’ Conference right now. Here’s why:
“dial_m: pink tuna sushi is 50% off weds & thurs for IL2008 folks -
Tue, 21 Oct 2008 21:58:12 GMT” (via Twitter from #il2008)
Well, that isn’t really why, but it sure sounded good…
In the meantime, I’m fortunate that microblogging & blogging have opened a window onto the conference (often in real-time) to those of us still watching from afar.
If you’d like to – as I am – follow Internet Librarians’, here’s a few suggestions:
- Twitter feed for IL2008 - http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23il2008
- http://tweetgrid.com/grid?l=0&q1=il2008 – a Grid of “tweets” (micro-blog Twitter posts) that have been labeled by Twitterers as being il2008 related (using the #il2008 hash tag)
- An article on the power of “hashtags” (e.g., here #il2008) in twitter for grouping posts about a specific event - http://www.engageinpr.com/2008/03/04/virtual-press-conference-power-of-hashtags/
- Technorati feed for IL2008 http://www.technorati.com/search/il2008?authority=a4&language=en
- SlideShare – slideshow presentations posted to slideshare.net - http://www.slideshare.net/event/internet-librarian-2008
so remember, even if we can’t enjoy the sushi from here, we can still get a little taste of what it’s like in
